I’m sure you’ve heard that micro weddings and elopements are a big thing right now. You might think that this is just a trend and that we’ll soon return to extravagant weddings with 200+ guests, but honestly I think smaller weddings are here to stay. I’m here to tell you why they have become so popular and why fewer people at your wedding are better.
The secret wedding formula. The more people at your wedding, the more you are spending on food, chairs, venue, and just about everything else. With fewer people at your wedding, you can cut your budget down and spend more on the things that will make your day everything you want it to be and more. With fewer people to feed, maybe you can splurge and get the fancier meal you’ve always dreamed of having at your wedding. And the truth is, you’ll still probably end up spending less than you would buying a less fancy meal for a whole bunch of people.
With fewer people at your wedding, you don’t have to worry about that weird uncle you haven’t seen in four years grabbing the microphone for a spur-of-the-moment champaign-inspired toast. You can choose to be surrounded by only your closest friends, family, and loved ones. This will greatly decrease your stress on the day of. You won’t have to worry about how you are going to say thank you to everyone before they leave, while still having time to eat dinner, dance, and get away for sunset portraits during your reception.
Having less people at your wedding will free up time in your day, you would be surprised to see how long it takes to get 200 people from a ceremony location to a reception location. With a smaller group of people, transitions like these will move along faster than normal and you will have more time to spend with those you love and of course more time to party!
I hope these 3 reasons why less people at your wedding is better got you thinking about your wedding guest list. If you’re looking for a photographer, I’m your girl! I love being a part of small weddings, click here and let’s chat! For more wedding tips, click here.
